How do I grant Kendal microphone access?

When you first start a conversation, Kendal asks for microphone permission. If you skipped or denied it, open iOS Settings → Kendal → Microphone and turn it on. Without microphone access, Kendal can’t hear you.

How do I grant Kendal calendar access?

Kendal reads your existing calendar so it knows what’s already on your plate. Open iOS Settings → Kendal → Calendars and grant Full Access. Kendal does not modify your calendar unless you explicitly ask it to add an event.

How does the partner-calendar feature work?

If you choose to share a partner’s calendar with Kendal, only busy-time blocks are read — not event titles, locations, or attendees. This helps Kendal avoid scheduling on top of your partner’s commitments. You can disconnect a partner calendar at any time in Kendal Settings → Partner.

How do I change the voice or playback speed?

Open Settings → Voice in the app and pick a voice. Playback speed (0.9×, 1.0×, 1.1×) is in the same screen.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your goals, conversation history, schedule, audio clips, and account identifier from our servers. The action cannot be undone.

If you can’t access the app, email hello@volveron.com from the address tied to your Sign in with Apple account, and we’ll delete your account on request.

What data does Kendal send to AI providers?

Voice audio is sent to Deepgram for speech-to-text. The conversation context (your words, Kendal’s responses, schedule snapshots) is sent to Anthropic to generate Kendal’s replies. Kendal’s text responses are sent to Cartesia to be turned back into speech. None of these providers use your data to train their public models. Full detail is in the Kendal Privacy Policy.

My AirPods aren’t working with Kendal. What do I try?

First, make sure your AirPods are connected to your iPhone (check Control Center → AirPlay). Quit and reopen Kendal so it picks up the audio route. If audio is still routing to the phone speaker, toggle Bluetooth off and back on in iOS Settings → Bluetooth. If the issue persists, email us with your AirPods model.

How do I set quiet hours or turn off notifications?

In the app, Settings → Notifications lets you set quiet hours and choose which kinds of reminders Kendal sends. To turn notifications off entirely, use iOS Settings → Kendal → Notifications.
